How PlanFacts makes money, and what that never affects.

PlanFacts is free to use. It is paid for in three ways:

Display advertising, labelled “Advertisement”.
Affiliate links to rollover and IRA providers, mainly on old-401(k) pages. If you open an account through one of these links, we may be paid a referral fee. These links are marked as affiliate links next to where they appear.
PlanFacts Pro, a paid tool for financial advisors and plan consultants.

What payments never affect

Which employers and plans we show, and in what order. Rankings are computed from filing data only.
Any number, formula or contact on the site. All of them come from public Form 5500 filings.

Whether to leave money in an old plan, move it to a new employer's plan, or roll it into an IRA depends on your situation. Nothing on this site is financial advice.
