What Albertsons Companies' 401(k) plan says about matching contributions
The Company may make a matching contribution to eligible non-union employees equal to a percentage of regular 401(k) contributions (not "catch up" contributions) up to 7% of eligible compensation for that Plan year. In order to be eligible to receive a matching contribution, employees generally must be employed for one year, complete 1,000 hours of service within a year, employed by the Company on the last day of the year and may not be an active participant in the Employee Retirement Plan of Safeway Inc. and its Domestic Subsidiaries ("ERP"). Certain union represented employees are eligible for the same discretionary matching contribution described above if provided for in their collective bargaining agreement. | Roth contributions | Contributions - Contributions to the Plan include (i) pre-tax and Roth salary reduction contributions authorized by participants, (ii) matching contributions made by the Company, (iii) discretionary contributions made by the Company; and (iv) participant rollovers from other qualified retirement plans. | Loans | Notes Receivable from Participants - Participants may borrow a minimum of $1,000 up to a maximum of the lesser of $50,000 or 50% of their vested account balance. The loan term cannot exceed five years, except where the loan is issued to purchase a primary residence, in which case the loan period may extend to 15 years. Loans are secured by the balance in the participant's account. The interest rate charged on participant loans shall be a fixed reasonable rate of interest, determined from time to time by the Committee, which provides the Plan with a return commensurate with the prevailing interest rate charged by persons in the business of lending money for loans which would be made under similar circumstances. Principal and interest payments are made through payroll deductions. Participants may make loan payments directly to the recordkeeper after termination of employment, after transfer to another plan within the Company's control group or when paying off the loan outside of the payroll system. Participants may have a maximum of two outstanding loans, one general purpose and one principal residence, and are charged a loan application fee of $75.00. As of December 31, 2024, participant loans have maturities through 2039, with interest rates ranging from 3.25% to 9.5%. Participant loans are held by the Plan outside of the Albertsons Companies Master Trust (the “Master Trust”). | Audit report, p. 32 ↗ |
